What Data We Collect and Why
We collect information in three ways:
Information you provide directly. When you subscribe to our email newsletter, leave a comment, or purchase a digital product, we collect the information you give us — typically your email address, name (if provided), and any details you include in messages or comments.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, our hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare) and analytics and advertising tools — including Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, which helps us measure our advertising and the actions visitors take on our site — automatically collect technical information including your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring website, pages visited, time spent on each page, and approximate geographic location based on IP address. This information helps us understand how the site is used and improve content.
Information from third parties. When you click affiliate links on our site, the destination vendor (Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, etc.) may track your click and any subsequent purchase. We may receive aggregated reports from these vendors showing referrals attributed to our site, which typically include the type of action taken (click, signup, purchase) but do not include your personal information.

Affiliate links do not influence our editorial assessments. We write honestly about every tool we cover, including limitations and downsides, regardless of commission structure.
Email Newsletter
If you subscribe to The Augmented Trades Weekly newsletter, we collect your email address through our newsletter platform (Beehiiv) for the purpose of sending you the newsletter and related communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes. Beehiiv processes email data on our behalf in accordance with their privacy policy.
Tool Finder. If you enter your email address to receive results from our free Tool Finder, we email you a copy of your recommendations and subscribe you to our newsletter (you can unsubscribe at any time). This is handled through Beehiiv and our email provider, and we store only your email address and the results generated.
Digital Product Purchases
When you purchase a digital product, checkout takes place on our own website (augmentedtrades.com) using the Easy Digital Downloads platform, and your payment is processed securely by Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your payment-card information directly; Augmented Trades never receives or stores your full card details. We receive your name, email address, and the product purchased to fulfill the order and provide customer support.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content from other websites (videos, images, articles, social media posts). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.
How We Share Your Data
